AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE - PERMIT FEES FOR MOBILE HOMES
Supervisor Dennis made a motion to amend the ordinance of Rankin County, Mississippi to adopt permit fees for mobile homes and manufactured houses, seconded by Supervisor Swales, and upon unanimous vote, the motion carried.
AMENDED ORDINANCE OF RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI
TO ADOPT PERMIT FEES FOR MOBILE HOMES
AND MANUFACTURED HOUSING
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Rankin County, Mississippi, to adopt in all respects, the various standard codes related to buildings, fire prevention, gas, housing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and swimming pools, in unincorporated areas of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the adoption of these standard codes is done to facilitate proper inspection activities in compliance with state and federal land use regulations and relating to the efficient provision of emergency and non-emergency services by Rankin County, Mississippi, relating to construction and maintenance of buildings within the unincorporated areas of Rankin County, Mississippi, and relating to public safety, health and general welfare; and,
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of November, 1992, the Board of Supervisors of Rankin County, Mississippi, adopted the Standard Building Code, 1991 with current year revisions and the Standard Housing Code of 1991 with current year revisions; and also has adopted Appendix "H" of the Standard Building Code regarding manufactured home tie-down standards;
WHEREAS, House Bill No. 307 of the 1994 Mississippi Legislative Session, as signed by the Governor, limits the permit fee which a county may charge for "the costs of inspection of the manufactured or mobile home relating to installation, blocking, anchoring and tie-down and safety standards of manufactured or mobile homes" to One Hundred Dollars ($100.00); and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, by and through its Board of Supervisors, that beginning July 1, 1994, there shall be a permit fee required on all mobile homes and manufactured housing to be located and/or constructed in Rankin County, Mississippi, in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per mobile home or manufactured housing unit.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, that said permit fees be approved by the Building Inspector of Rankin County, Mississippi and shall be paid through the office of the Building Inspector of Rankin County, Mississippi .
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI that this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force as of July 1, 1994, the public welfare requiring it. Supervisor ____Dennis____ moved the adoption of the foregoing Ordinance. Supervisor ____Swales_____ seconded. The clerk recorded the vote as follows:
